FeedMore WNY Community Ambassador CouncilOn Tuesday, as the Co-Chair of the FeedMore WNY Community Ambassador Council (CAC), I had the honor of participating in the New Member Orientation at the FeedMore headquarters. I'm excited to inform you that Tim Waterman, a Seneca Nation Councilor from Allegany territory, has become a part of our FeedMore CAC team. Having additional members representing the Southern Tier join us is vital as it brings different viewpoints to CAC. Safe KidsLast week, our Safe Kids Coordinator, Sydney, attended PrevCon, which is Safe Kids Worldwide Child Injury Prevention Convention in Washington DC. PrevCon is one of the largest gatherings of safety professionals in the world dedicated solely to the field of childhood injury prevention. Sydney had the opportunity to network with many other coordinators from across the world and brought back numerous ideas to implement within our coalition.
Additionally, this week, our Safe Kids coalition held their quarterly meeting. I want to express my gratitude to everyone who was able to attend. If you know anyone who would like to join our efforts in child injury prevention and become a part of the coalition, please have them contact Sydney at safekids@sthcs.org. Networking Event was a successLast week, we organized a Speed Networking Event for care coordinators in Cattaraugus County. The event aimed to bring together like-minded individuals who share a passion for enhancing healthcare in our community. Through meaningful conversations, the 50 participants had the opportunity to learn from each other, exchange valuable ideas, and explore potential collaborations. We collaborated with Ardent Solutions and Universal Primary Care for this event, which was a part of the HFWCNY's Rural Health Equity Initiative. Additionally, the Southern Tier Health Workforce Excellence Partnership joined efforts to strengthen collaboration in our county. We are thrilled to announce that another networking event will take place on August 31 at the Wellsville Country Club. However, please note that space is limited, so if you are interested in attending, be sure to register promptly! We are excited to see you there and continue our efforts to improve healthcare in our rural community. Honoring the Reisner FamilyYesterday, Alicia and I had the privilege of attending the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation's Friends of the Foundation & Scholarship Luncheon. During the event, they honored Dr. Lewis and Doris Reisner, as well as Walt and Ruth Reisner, recognizing them as the 2023 Friends of the Foundation.
The Reisner family received this recognition for their outstanding generosity and community involvement. Following Walt's passing in 2017, Ruth established the Walt & Ruth Reisner Endowment Fund. This fund continues to provide yearly contributions to both the Olean General Hospital Foundation for Obstetrics and the Southern Tier Health Care System for Emergency Medical Services, in memory of Walt. It was a heartwarming experience to be a part of this event, celebrating the enduring legacy of the Reisner family and their unwavering dedication to the Southern Tier Health Care System. Their contributions have left a positive impact on the community, and we are grateful for their ongoing support. |
