Vital Signs EMS Academy
The Bureau of EMS has launched its new Learning Management System (LMS), Vital Signs Academy. Their goal is to deliver educational content in a more advanced way. They aim to enhance the quality of learning by being flexible to different learning styles while improving efficiency and effectiveness. Vital Signs
Southwestern Regional EMS Council is offering reimbursement for providers from Allegany, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties who attend. Information regarding reimbursement for Vital Signs can be found on our website (https://www.swrems.org/).

Vital Signs Conference Reimbursement Instructions
- Reimbursement must be funding of last choice.
- Individuals must belong to an agency in Allegany, Cattaraugus, or Chautauqua County and a PPA and current year skills sheet must be on file with STEMS.
- Only conference registration fee and hotel fee is reimbursable.
- Reimbursement for conference registration fee does not include instructor courses, preconferences, or core content refreshers.
- Hotel fees will be reimbursed in accordance with the U.S. General Services Administration Per Diem hotel rates found at https://www.gsa.gov/travel/plan-book/per-diem-rates.
- The maximum amount per individual allowable for reimbursement is $400 and will be dependent on the number of people who apply for reimbursement from each county.
- Original receipts must be submitted with reimbursement voucher.
- Receipts must be made out to the individual seeking reimbursement, not an agency.
- Agencies will not receive reimbursement of any kind.
- Forms must be submitted to SWREMS c/o STHCS by November 3, 2023. STHCS will compile and submit to each county council for verification. The county council must return reimbursement forms to SWREMS for final approval by December 11, 2023.
- Reimbursement checks will be sent following final approval at the following SWREMS meeting.
