Narcan Training
Southern Tier Health Care System became a DOH-certified opioid overdose prevention program in 2015. STOPP offers free training to the friends and family members of those likely to suffer an overdose from heroin and prescription opiates like Oxycodone in Cattaraugus, Allegany and Chautauqua counties. We also have a program to train firefighters, basic life support first responders and law enforcement.. Everyone who successfully completes the program will receive a free overdose prevention kit provided by the New York State Department of Health which includes two doses of intranasal Narcan.

- Distinguish between different types of overdose
- Perform rescue breathing
- Administer intranasal Narcan

The Erie County Opiate Epidemic Task Force are presenting a series of virtual trainings on recognizing the signs of an opioid overdose and on using Narcan (naloxone) to reverse an opioid overdose.
Participants who provide a mailing address will receive a free Narcan kit after the training is complete. Register online at http://www.erie.gov/opioidtrainings. Participants will need a computer with Internet access or a smart phone with the ability to access WebEx.
