CEO Update, September 10, 2021

9/10/2021

World Suicide Prevention Day

Picture
Today, September 10, is World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD). This is an awareness day observed every year to provide worldwide commitment and action to prevent suicides, with various activities around the world since 2003.

The Cattaraugus County Suicide Prevention Coalition has been promoting Suicide Prevention Week and World Suicide Prevention Day. We are happy that STHCS staff could participate in promoting suicide prevention awareness and show our support.

SBU CCRT

Picture
This week, I attended the St. Bonaventure University’s Coordinated Community Response Team (CCRT) meeting. At this meeting, it was discussed that a member of St. Bonaventure’s Medical Emergency Response Team, Alexandra Rozanski, has recently joined the CCRT as the student ambassador. It is great to see members of SBU MERT getting involved in the CCRT. In addition to our involvement in the CCRT, we continue to work with Connecting Communities in Action (CCA) on prevention and outreach efforts to benefit and support the sexual assault survivors of our rural community.
