HFWCNY Health Leadership Fellows Graduation On Monday, I had the opportunity to attend graduation of the Health Foundation for Western and Central New York's Health Leadership Fellows program, Cohort 9. There was also a poster session where the Safe Sleep project that was done with my fellowship Team Beethoven was spotlighted. In 2015, my team identified infant mortality due to unsafe sleeping conditions as a key focus area, which led to STHCS Safe Sleep program. I am excited to share that with funding from the HFCWNY, a team from Best Self has taken the lessons learned at STHCS and has created the Erie County Infant Sleep Project with the goal of reducing infant mortality due to unsafe sleep to zero. Community Events This past weekend, STHCS was able to participate in two community events. First, we attended the Olean YMCA Healthy Kids Day, where we showcased many of STHCS' programs, including our health insurance enrollment. This event was well attended by members of the community, and we were able to educate many on what we can offer. The Safe Kids Southern Tier New York coalition hosted a Teen Driving Safety event at Shults Resale Center in Olean. Many different organizations partnered with us on this event, including Ardent Solutions, the Cattaraugus Drug-Free Coalition, and New York State Sheriff's Office. This was a great event, and I am looking forward to our next one at Shults Auto Group in Jamestown on May 21. It was amazing to see so many people at these events after what feels like a very long time since we have been able to participate in community events. I can't wait to see what this summer brings for the many events happening in our community! Update Link Comments are closed.
