Owning the Airway This past week, we were able to host our first EMS training in person in several months here at the STHCS training center. Denise Cuillo of Mercy Flight presented “Owning the Airway,” which was a course for both BLS and ALS EMS Providers. This course was available in person with limited attendance as well as a virtual attendance option. Those attending in person were able to participate in a skills session following the presentation. Thankfully, many EMS providers have received their COVID-19 vaccine making this training possible. Also, social distancing and mask-wearing was observed throughout this training, and it was a great success. We are looking forward to moving toward getting things back to “normal.” Choosing Hope 2  WNY Rural AHEC is hosting a webinar series focused on prevention, treatment, and paths to recovery of opioid addiction. Their Choosing Hope 2 series includes topics such as Battling Stigma, COVID-19 Impacts on Addiction, and self-care for human services/healthcare providers. The series runs every Tuesday in March at 12:30 pm. Registration and the recordings of the previous sessions are available on WNY Rural AHEC’s website.
