This past year has created an unprecedented time for our community and a critical gap in the services that local nonprofits are able provide in Western New York. In response to these challenges, the idea of Give 716 was born as a collaborative effort between the Buffalo Bills Foundation and Buffalo Sabres Foundation by using their collective resources for good.
The goal of Give 716 is simple, to unite Bills and Sabres fans with the Western New York Community in an epic day of giving! It also aims to bring awareness and develop deeper, more meaningful connections between nonprofits providing the vital supporting services to our community.
Support Southern Tier Health Care System (STHCS) with your online donation between July 15 at 7:16pm and July 16th at 11:59pm in celebration of #GIVE716! A donation of any amount is greatly appreciated and helps us meet our mission of improving the health and wellness of our rural community!
Home Alone Safety Course
This week, our Safe Kids Coordinator, Sydney, hosted a home alone safety course here at our training center. This course equips youth with the necessary skills and knowledge to create a safe and responsible environment while home alone. Participants learned the importance of safety topics such as preventing and handling emergency situations, fire safety, escape plans, and basic first aid. They also learned bike and traffic safety, street smarts and stranger danger, online and internet safety, and simple meal preparation.
Sydney did a great job putting together our first Home Alone Safety Course, and we are looking forward to many more in the future!
