Sonography Technologist
A Sonography Technologist, also called a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, uses specialized ultrasound equipment to create images of a patient’s internal organs, tissues, and blood flow. These images help doctors diagnose medical conditions, monitor pregnancies, and guide treatments. The job combines technical skill, attention to detail, and patient care. Sonographers work closely with patients, explaining procedures and ensuring they are comfortable, while also collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals. The work can be physically demanding at times, requiring standing for long periods and positioning patients or equipment. It also requires strong analytical skills to capture accurate images and sometimes recognize abnormal findings.
