Peer Support Training 

​We will be hosting the third installment of the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF) course for peer support training at our training center. This program has been a valuable collaboration between EMS and law enforcement, with participants from the Olean Police Department, Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office, TransAm, and Olean City Fire. The ICISF course teaches Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), a structured method for handling stress and aiding recovery after critical incidents or traumatic events. This training equips participants with the skills to provide emotional support to their peers, helping them manage the mental and emotional challenges of working in high-stress, high-risk fields. 

Teen Driving Safety

We are excited to promote teen driving safety in partnership with the Trainees for Child Injury Prevention (T4CIP) for their #RulesForTheRoad Day of Action on October 23, 2024. 
Parents play a crucial role in keeping their teen drivers safe. Teaching the rules of the road and modeling good driving habits can make a significant difference. It’s not just about passing a driving test—it’s about preparing teens to handle real-life driving situations with confidence and caution. Regular conversations and clear guidance help teens develop safe driving habits. By discussing safe driving, setting clear rules, and emphasizing the importance of safety, we can protect our teens and make the roads safer for everyone. 
Safe driving is one of the most important lessons parents and guardians can teach their teens.
