Sun Safety

Our Safe Kids Southern Tier New York has partnered with the Olean YMCA to enhance sun safety at the Erick Laine Outdoor Center by installing sunscreen dispensers. This initiative aims to protect visitors from sun-related skin conditions and health risks. The Erick Laine Outdoor Center, featuring a splash pad and airnasium, provides families with a fun and safe environment. Community members are encouraged to enjoy the new amenities and follow sun safety tips such as wearing sunscreen, covering up, and staying hydrated. My granddaughter, Kallahan, has already put the sunscreen dispensers to good use!  

ARC Area Development Presentation 

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to present at the Southern Tier West Board of Directors meeting, where we were considered for funding for the FY2025 Appalachian Regional Commission Area Development Program. This was a wonderful chance to share information about the community paramedicine program we have been developing. I am pleased to announce that our project was ranked highly, and we have been invited to complete the full application.
