Welcome! to the website of Southern Tier Health Care System (STHCS). Our organization is one of 35 rural health networks that operate in various rural areas across New York State. A rural health network is defined as "a formal organizational arrangement among rural health care providers (and possibly insurers and social service providers) that uses the resources of more than one existing organization and specifies the objectives and methods by which various collaborative functions are achieved." Southern Tier Health Care System is proud to be part of that system.
STHCS is a not-for-profit network driven by 14 member organizations that are outlined in the Members section of our website. Additionally, we are the administrative agency for several programs and services that can be found by clicking on the Programs tab. New York Prescription SaverSouthern Tier Health Care System, Inc. wants people to know they may be eligible for a free pharmacy discount card that can save them up to 60 percent on generic prescription medicine. The New York Prescription Saver card is sponsored by New York and supported by pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies. The prescription card can be used at participating pharmacies to save up to 60 percent on generic prescriptions and up to 30 percent on brand name drugs.
Each person wishing to be part of the New York Prescription Saver program has to fill out an application. Spouses and family members must fill out separate applications. Applicants can apply online or download and print application at
